I'm up for it after the welsh touch league finishes. Why don't we mix it up a little and play a game of football on the odd night just to vary it?

Or hopscotch and hide and seek?
T and P is the only game to develop the skills needed in top flight rugby.....passing, communication, awareness and CHEATING!!!
Also, have you seen Ripper traying to play football, he's no Gary Neville!

I see mr O keefe has given into temptation & decided to grace us on the guestbook as a guest, I just hope he has learnt by his mistakes & doesnt ruin any 1 elses life.
Agree T&P is the way forward, plus its just not fair to expect people to be able to catch a cricket ball alot of players struggle to catch a rugby ball (You all no who you are) so what chance would they have with such a small ball!!

Then we need to use the touch rugby rules. This makes the defence work harder by dropping back 5 metres after every touch tackle and also helps with the communication skills. The team has six touches to score or turn over ball. We would need someone to ref the T&P so we adhere to the rules.

Killer in an ideal world fair enough but Llandaff rules will do just fine!!! Rules & a ref dont make people work harder, the individual player decides how hard they are gone work which shows every saturday!

I disagree defending using LLandaff rules (basically standing flat) isn't hard. When you have to retreat 5 and then go up to defend it makes the defender work harder (good for fitness). It also lets the attacking side create more if they are quick enough.

killer, league touch rugby is an entirely different game, played a few seasons of it and sure enough it is much faster and will have us all sweating buckets but many of the rules go against union basics which llandaff rules embrace. For example:
A) Defensive lines are flat v the touch one up system would create an immediate overlap or easy offload. B) Angles of running are almost obsolete in touch rules as you only need to touch them with one hand. In union you want to promote angles of running that force a one handed tackle or stretch the defensive player off balance. C) Touch rules encourage the attacker to slow up or stop before reaching a defensive player so as not to over run where as llandaff rules promote the smash through a brick wall type tactic and overrun until the boys start screaming at you or fluffer starts a fight(whichever happens first).
Touch is a great game but the basics create bad habits for a union player, it's best left to retired rugby players, men who are scared of contact and girls.

The main reason for putting across the rules is the fitness aspect of touch. I agree with your point B but touch doesn't encourage the attacker to slow down if you play it right by touching the defender and realising the ball quickly you produce quick attacking ball.
If we want to stick to Llandaff rules thats fine with me, I just thought it would benefit the players from a fitness aspect if nothing else.
Touch rugby is for fitness in the summer and not about being scared of contact, although tp you maybe frighten of contact as you didn't leave your name.

Agree with tp 100%!! no offence but i also herd that the majority (not all) who play in that tp league dont play rugby & are ponny so people who play rugby & can catch go & play in that league to look like superstars!! If any youth players are intrested also turn up for a game down the club over the summer!! its Llandaff senior rules though not those poxy LLandaff youth rules Llandaff Rules Rule

I agree the rules need to be as close to that of union as possible to keep our eye in as it were.
I'm looking to use T&P this summer to improve my current skill level from its current position of NILL and raise it to DREADFUL or as it is other wise known WOODMAN ;D

"Not those poxy Llandaff youth rules" won't make much of a difference if you can't catch the poxy youth !!!!

Come on Gentleman, lets get back to talking about more important issues please!!!! Lets get the guestbook talking about more important matters like Keefy's spelling, I am not impressed Michael!!!! Does it matter what rules we play, these players are a given in every game of touch - Maggot - Shits out when players run at him Ripper - Moaning Keefy - Stretching all through the game Reesey - Phase in and out of games, when he can be arsed Simmsy and Zac - Cheating "The Legend" - Walking everywhere Now what rules are going to change this tried and tested formula? ? Love and Kisses Gareth "The Legend" Lomax -x-

To Anthony 'madeofglass' Thomas, you should be very careful directing insults to Woodman's in general you must remember that there are 4 genarations associated with our wonderful club, you don't want to make enemys this early on in your career! Now I agree that my skill level can be inconsistent at times but when it really counts i.e. playing first team games I'm solid as a rock! Made of Glass Vs You Can't Compete With Concrete, there's only going to be 1 winner there. Now sush before I give you another black eye!
